Annie Lennox

Annie Lennox is a Scottish born and bred singer. She was born on 25 December 1954 in Aberdeen. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother, while Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music in London during the 1970s when she learned the flute piano and the harpsichord over three years. She was able to survive with the stipend she received from her students as she worked part-time. Lennox felt that her skills aren't the same as the Royal Academy classmates. So she started thinking of other options she could pursue. Lennox performed flute in a 1976 band called Dragons Playground. But she quit before her band was asked to participate in I.T.V.'s talent competition New Faces. The singer was the primary voice of The Tourists a British pop group from 1977 until the year 1980. In this band, she was first introduced to Dave Stewart. Together they would form The Eurythmics pop duo. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut record Diva. The album was released in 1993. It was a huge success both commercially as well as critically. Nostalgia Lennoxs Six solo album, released in October 2014 is Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. is a selection of Lennoxs favorite soul jazz and blues tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera contains four improvised keyboard tracks. The E.P. is the companion album for her installation of art at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled"Now, I'll let You go... It is also her first independently released album.
